Joe Brady - “Matching Your Prints to your Monitor... Lessons in Calibration”
Are you tired of printing and hit-or-miss editing the same images five times in an attempt to get one good print? For any imaging professional, one of the most important aspects of their craft is color. It follows that specifying, viewing, evaluating and printing consistent, reproducible color should seem to be one of the most basic needs. With Color Controls in place, the goal is to be able to accurately view the image on a computer display for evaluation and editing and then have color images reproduce consistently on different printers. As more and more technologies become available for photographers and designers, this task has become more complicated. Beginning with image capture and following through to editing and output, we'll show that with a minimum of hardware and software, you can produce prints that match your display and save you time and money.
Joe Brady is the Field Marketing Manager for Color Systems at the MAC Group in Elmsford NY, including EIZO Monitors X-Rite Color Management Systems and Sekonic Color and Flash Meters. He is an active member of the PPA and has been involved in wedding, portrait and commercial photography for over twenty years. An award winning photographer and recipient of the Fuji Masterpiece Award, Joe has been teaching digital imaging and Photoshop since 1992

We all love making great photographs. But with the explosion of technology and our litigious society, how do we protect our photographs and ourselves when our photographs are sold, used or displayed?
The seminar will touch on issues such as protecting and registering your copyright, gaining permission to use or sell your images with model and property releases, tax issues when you sell your photographs, pricing your work and support information to help you navigate a changing and complex business world driven by the internet.
