About Camera Rochester

A club for amateurs and professionals

Since 1970, Camera Rochester has sought to stimulate interest in photography for people in the Greater Rochester Area.

The photographic skills of the club’s members are as diverse as the members themselves. Graphics, nature, portraits, landscapes, close-up (macro), fine art and technical photography are just some of the subjects that make monthly meetings interesting.

Competitions for Large & Small Color prints, Black & White prints, Slides, and Alternative Processes (including digital manipulation) are held on the first Monday of each month.

Programs, including demonstrations and lectures, occur on the third Monday of the month. Members learn about photography’s past, present and future, as well as state-of-the-art techniques. The Club’s activities also include photo field trips, photo retreats, and exhibitions of
our members’ best images at Rochester-area galleries.

Camera Rochester members help each other learn more about cameras and photographic techniques in a friendly atmosphere. It is never too early or too late to start taking photographs. If you enjoy photography, then please consider joining us - guests are always welcome. For more
information, please contact our Membership Chair, Bev Cronkite, at Camera Rochester: (camera.rochester.membership@gmail.com).

On-line Mentoring Program: The club’s on-line mentoring program is available to all club members having e-mail capability. Question will be sent anonymously to the mentor group. The questions may pertain to anything related to photography: technical, philosophical, where to find
information on a subject, how to handle a specific situation, etc.
